It's amazing how many people need to borrow money before Christmas. People really should learn to live within their means.

Excellent advice, Theo. It would not surprise me at all to learn that it was families like the Weasley's who live beyond their means.

Draco, long time no speak. It may surprise you even more to know that I haven't even seen a Weasley, they could possibly have learned their lesson.

That does indeed surprise me.

How have you been, Theo? Gringott's treating you well?

I've been well. Gringott's is a joy, especially in the Christmas season.

And yourself? How's business?

Glad to hear it.

Christmas is always a good time for us. The holidays bring out the best in people.

I bet they do.

Have you any plans for the silly season?

Apart from getting incredibly drunk? Nope.

You?

With no family obligations these days, I haven't planned anything apart from a few relaxing days at home.

You're not planning to open over Christmas?

Well, that all depends on Miss Parkinson. We will be, but whether I have to work depends on whether she wants the time off or not.

Not at all.

Now it's just fine and dandy. It's next year, when they can't pay it all back that's the problem.

I have to confess, I'm rather curious as to what happens when they can't pay. More than a howler, I presume.

It's a howler in the first instance. One every day a week after that. Then you don't want to know - Goblins aren't known for tolerance.

They should, but I suppose that's easier for people who have much more than others to say. And I'm glad to say I will never have to go through the embarrassment of asking for money that isn't mine.

Theoretically, except that I have had periods of no money at all and I still managed not to beg, borrow or steal.
